There’s no denying writing is hard. In fact, it may be one of the hardest intellectual tasks we humans can perform. We can think easily. We can speak easily. But writing—and writing clearly—is another challenge altogether. In a nutshell, writing is difficult because it’s a one-way conversation, which means the reader can’t ask questions while reading. As a result, writing needs to be ultra clear and organized, and most minds are naturally inclined toward clarity and structure. Therefore, writing requires that we stretch our intellectual capacities to their fullest and create something fully coherent.
