We often talk about whether it’s better to write or to type. Put practicality aside, it’s a complicated question because both have benefits and inconveniences. On the one hand, writing is better because it’s freer and less mechanical; it’s also a more creative process because you have to pay attention to your handwriting. On the other hand, typing is great because you can easily go back and revise your ideas. Although we don’t advise revising and edit while writing the first draft, being able to modify our text as we write can be very useful for our creativity.
